Call for papers: AC Devcon 2000 (Netherlands)

Active Exhibitions Europe has issued a formal “call for papers” for the Applied Computing Developers' Conference & Expo, which will be held November 6-11 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Talks on embedded and real-time Linux technologies and applications are especially desired. Following, is the text of the request . . .

The AC Developers' Conference & Expo invites experts and companies to submit abstracts for the 2000 event. The event contents is the most important focus. The sessions must offer in-depth, high-quality contents to meet the needs of system developers and engineering managers. This years' conference will feature the addition of a track dedicated to the use of Linux and other Open Source Software in Applied Computing. Like last year, the conference is co-located with CMP's Embedded Systems Conference Europe, with a joint exhibition floor. Session Types

  • Conference Session — 45 minutes informative, educational, to-the-point
  • Mini Tutorial — 90 minutes in-depth session
  • Tutorial — ½ day in-depth, elaborate with live demos or hands-on
  • Workshop 1 or 2 day in-depth, hands-on and/or demos, full coverage
Topics

Papers on Linux-related subjects could include, but are not limited to:

  • Real-Time Linux
  • Embedding Linux and minimizing the system
  • High-Availability considerations
  • (embedded) Internet applications, protocol stacks
  • Hands-on experiences
  • Driver tutorials and technologies
  • Software Development
Instructions

The abstract should be approximately 150 words long. All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference programme on this site at a later date. The speaker biography should be approximately 80 words long and should include a summary of your professional background and education. Abstract must also contain full contact information.

Deadlines

  • Abstract proposals — August 15
  • Notification of selection — August 30
  • Track Assignment Notification — September 15
  • Final Paper due — September 29
  • Conference Start — November 6
Selected speakers will receive: a complementary full pass for all ACDevCon Conference sessions and Workshops with associated meals, and access to the Speaker Ready Room. By submitting your abstract you agree to give the presentation during the conference and to comply with the deadlines mentioned above.
