[Updated Mar. 30] — The Consumer Electronic Linux Forum (CELF) has published a preliminary presenters list for its annual conference, and requests that attendees register now, to ensure an accurate head-count. The CELF Embedded Linux Conference is set for Apr. 11-12 in San Jose, Calif., and will feature presentations, tutorials, and informal “birds-of-a-feather” sessions delivered and attended by… many prominent Linux hackers, including several key kernel subsystem maintainers.

For example, new Busybox maintainer Rob Landley, a senior Linux engineer at TimeSys, will present a session entitled “What's new with Busybox,” at 11 AM on Tuesday.

The event will also include sessions on using Linux in TV, benchmarking real-time performance, bootup time, system size, power management, event tracing, and “a host of other topics,” according to Tim Bird, a senior staff engineer at Sony who serves as CELF's architecture group chair. “There's something for everyone! Well… everyone who develops embedded products using Linux, anyway,” Bird said.

He adds:

You'll be able to talk directly to many of the primary maintainers of important kernel features and add-on systems, such as:

• uClinux
• hrtimers
• PCI and USB
• LKST, LTTng and KFT tracing systems
• power management
• ALSA
