CELF embedded Linux conference seeks speakers

Nov 23, 2005 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) is seeking technical presentations and tutorials for an embedded Linux conference next spring. Presentations need not be focused on consumer electronics, but should be of general relevance to most embedded developers. The conference will take place Apr. 11-12 in San Jose, Calif.

Suggested topics include:

  • Audio, video, and graphics systems for embedded products
  • Security
  • System size
  • Bootup time
  • Meeting real-time constraints
  • Power management
  • Streaming media
  • Flash memory devices and filesystems
  • Technologies related to cell phones, digital settop boxes, handheld devices, or other consumer electronics products
  • Development tools for embedded users
  • Use of Linux in actual products, practical experience and war stories
  • Standards for consumer electronics products

Presentation slots are 40 or 50 minutes long, including questions. Multiple slots can be scheduled for interactive tutorial sessions. Individuals may submit multiple proposals, but since the number of slots is limited, at most one proposal is likely to be accepted. Presentations involving commercial advertisements or sales pitches will not be accepted.

CELF's architecture group chair, Tim Bird, says, “We prefer presentations that have not been previously presented, but exceptions will be made for material that is either of great interest, or has been seen previously only by a limited audience.”

Additional details can be found here. Presentations from last year's conference are listed here.
