The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) is seeking volunteers to help design and steer a vendor-neutral, community-oriented “wiki”-based website, to launch at an undisclosed time. The site will be open to the public, and will offer information aimed at making it easier to use Linux in embedded products.

CELF says it will provide hosting and a “dedicated editor” for the wiki. The new wiki will host content from CELF's current wiki, including material for system designers and software developers. It will also feature how-to guides, research results, and other useful information, such as links to LinuxDevices.com and other external resources.

The new wiki's volunteer-based task force will hold discussions on CELF's main developer mailing list, which is open to the general public.

CELF was founded in 2003, and today boasts more than 50 members, including many of the best-known corporate brands in the consumer electronics industry. It incorporated as a California non-profit corporation in January of 2005, and hired a principal developer about a year ago.
