CodeWarrior to Attack Embedded Linux Market [SD Times]

Software Development Times reports that Metrowerks Corp. is developing a version of its CodeWarrior integrated development environment (IDE) for Embedded Linux, and that the company has unveiled its plan to integrate CodeWarror with the Embedded Linux offerings of Lineo, LynuxWorks, and MontaVista Software. SD Times writes . . .

“Under the agreements, announced at [the] Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, Calif., Metrowerks (http://www.metrowerks.com) will integrate its tools with BlueCat Linux from LynuxWorks, Embedix and the Embedix SDK from Lineo, and Hard Hat Linux from MontaVista, and the companies also will be authorized to resell the Metrowerks tools.”

“According to Greg Stoner, vice president of marketing at Metrowerks, CodeWarrior for embedded Linux will be the only product of its kind to offer hosted development on Linux, Macintosh, Solaris, and Windows workstations. The port also will include application- and kernel-level debugging.”
