IGEL Technology has released a new model in its IGEL Clever Clienting line. The new IGEL Compact features a 400MHz Via Eden CPU, up to 512MB main memory, improved graphics, and an internal smartcard reader, and it runs IGEL Embedded Linux as its internal software platform.

IGEL says its Clever Client solution can put a managed, open source operating system – IGEL Linux – on computing devices acress the enterprise, including desktops, thin clients, mobile systems, handheld devices, and PDAs. It claims its thin clients are highly configurable and can offer customers manageability, simplicity, and reliability in an affordable, standards-based package.

IGEL lists the following features for the new Compact model:
