The third annual EclipseCon will feature 140 sessions, including several devoted to the top-level embedded tools project founded by Wind River, among other topics of interest to Linux-based device developers. The event is set for March 20-23, in Santa Clara, Calif., and features 140 presentations. 1,500 attendees are expected.

Keynote speakers include:

• The Eclipse Foundation's new director of community development, Ward Cunningham
• Google's Greg Stein
• Fog Creek's Joel Spolsky

In addition, some 140 long and short sessions will address many topics of interest to embedded Linux developers. For example:

• Doug Gaff and Martin Oberhuber will offer separate presentations on the top-level “DSDP” project (device software development platform) founded by Wind River.
• Nokia's Matti Sillanpaa will discuss “Extending Eclipse and CDT for Embedded Systems Development with Scratchbox.” Scratchbox is the sandbox cross-compile environment used by Nokia's open source Maemo.org software project.
• The Eclipse Foundation's Ian Skerrett will lead an “Embedded and Mobile Developer” session.
