About the Embedded Linux Expo & Conference (ELEC)
The Embedded Linux Expo & Conference (ELEC) is the world's first expo and conference exclusively targeting the use of the popular open-source Linux operating system in embedded applications. A second ELEC event is planned for Toronto, Ontario, November 16, 2000. Each ELEC event features a full day of technical presentations about using Linux and related technologies in non-desktop embedded and real-time computing applications.
ELEC is directed towards engineers, project managers, and design teams that are developing a broad range of embedded systems incorporating the Linux operating system and related technologies. Typical applications span the gamut from moderate to high performance fixed and mobile computing needs, and include: smart appliances, gaming, set-top boxes, medical equipment, defense/aerospace systems, industrial control/automation, transportation systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
To further enhance the benefit to the attendees, the first ELEC event (June 22; San Jose, CA) is co-located with The RTC Group's popular Embedded Computing Show (ECS). The ELEC / ECS joint event is designed to promote the maximum exchange of information by offering over 12 technical sessions in the conference – plus a rich variety of product information via the expo – within a single days' time.
