[Updated Dec. 21, 2001] What's the status of G.Mate's YOPY Linux-PDA? According to Seungchae, G.Mate Sales and Marketing Manager, “We are selling the new YOPY on the website at this point. I think we will ship it to U.S. and other world-wide customers [as soon as we finalize the sales] channel. It could be at the beginning of next year. Anyway, people . . . are ordering it [now] on the website.”

Note: According to a statement on G.Mate's website in the order area, shipments of the YOPY begin December 21, 2001 (today). However, LinuxDevices.com has not confirmed that the devices are actually beginning to be shipped to customers.

Developer prototypes of the YOPY began shipping early in 2001 but the device was redesigned and a prototype of the new version, a “clam shell” design, was demonstrated at Comdex in Las Vegas, NV in November 2001. U.S. pricing of the device will be approximately $450, according to the article.
