Jan 9, 2006 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 87 viewsExtremeTech has published a step-by-step guide to one simple method of getting Linux running on Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP). The method uses an open source x86 emulator called Bochs, which supports Linux and several other embedded operating systems.

The project described by ExtremeTech requires a “hackable” PSP, along with a copy of Bochs built for the PSP, and a Linux firmware image for the Bochs/PSP environment. The article appears to provide fairly detailed installation and configuration suggestions. It can be found here.
The Xynth Project has also released a Linux firmware port for the PSP.
