Lineo establishes Lineo Japan, Inc.

Lindon, UT — (press release) — Lineo, Inc., today announced that USE, the 100 percent Lineo-owned Japanese engineering subsidiary, has been reincorporated as Lineo Japan, Inc., to provide the Japanese market with Lineo's full-service operations, including marketing, sales, training and technical support.

“Local Japanese marketing and sales operations will advance Lineo's head start among embedded Linux vendors in Japan, and extend our global capabilities in delivering Linux-based embedded, real-time, and high availability solutions to OEM partners,” said Bryan Sparks, CEO, Lineo, Inc. “Lineo Japan adds a great deal of engineering expertise and experience to our global company offering.”

Since the acquisition, Lineo Japan has functioned as Lineo's professional services organization by supporting and enhancing custom engineering work as well as providing development resources to help Lineo augment its support for all major hardware platforms in the embedded industry, including PowerPC, Coldfire, Dragonball, i960, ARM7, ARM9, StrongARM, SuperH, Media GX, x86, and MIPS with more than 24 experienced engineers.

“In addition to the Shiojiri, Japan office currently in operation, we intend to open a full-service operation in Tokyo this fall to extend convenient access to our customers, channels and OEM partners across Japan and the Asia Pacific region,” said Yoshinobu Ushiyama, president and CEO of Lineo Japan.
