Linux in industry: Turbine vibration monitoring

Prosig Ltd. used embedded Linux, virtual private network (VPN), and other open source software technologies to add remote access and other improvements to its vibration monitoring system. It completed the project using mostly in-house staff, in under a year.

Prosig produces Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) monitors and other condition monitoring systems that are used in vehicle and product refinement, digital signal processing, turbine and plant monitoring, environmental testing, vibration monitoring, structural testing and animation, rotating machinery analysis, and shock and vibration measurement.
