Aaeon announced a 12.1-inch panel PC that includes a resistive touchscreen and Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. The AGP-3125 is equipped with up to 8GB DDR3 memory, dual PCI or PCI Express expansion slots, SATA storage, two gigabit Ethernet ports, six USB ports, plus resistance to shock, vibration, temperature, and ingress, says the company.

The AGP-3125 is designed for rugged touch-panel applications including factory automation, railway control centers, environmental monitoring, fitness centers, and baker machines, says Aaeon.

The panel PC is equipped with the first-generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors and the Intel Core QM57 chipset. According to Aaeon, the computer includes a modular, easy-to-swap CPU board design that can be fitted with three different Intel Core boards, enabling a longer device lifespan through upgrades.

Supporting up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, the panel PC is available with a 2.5-inch hard disk drive (HDD), says the company. For expansion, customers can choose between dual Mini PCI or Mini PCI Express slots, and there is also a cited "mini" slot (Mini PCI, we presume) for adding a wireless networking card.

The 12.1-inch, 1024 x 768 screen offers resistive touch and is available in two versions. An "HTT" model has a 500-nit brightness rating, while an "STT" model has 1000-nit brightness, according to the company.

The AGP-3125 is equipped with two gigabit Ethernet ports, a serial port, and six USB 2.0 ports, with two of them facing forward, says the company. A DVI port, PS/2 port, and audio ports are also said to be available.

The ruggedized system features a "non-gap" design with "hairline surface treatment and painting," says Aaeon. IP-65/ NEMA4 protection is offered on the aluminum front bezel and chassis, says the company.

Cooled by ambient  airflow, the system supports operating temperatures of 32 to 131 deg. F (0 to 55 deg. C), according to Aaeon. Shock and vibration resistance are also said to be available. OS support for the AGP-3125 includes Fedora Linux, Windows XP, and Windows 7, says the company.
