LinuxCertified will offer a course on embedded Linux for the first time, in San Jose on August 16-20th. The four-day course, taught by unspecified “industry veterans,” aims to provide managers and developers with an in-depth analysis of embedded Linux, the company says.

According to LinuxCertified, the course addresses when to choose Linux, embeding Linux, and measuring real-time Linux performance, in addition to:

  • foundations of Embedded Linux
  • building a system image
  • cross-compiling and building a kernel
  • file systems for embedded devices
  • using the GNU tools
  • memory architecture
  • real-time modifications
  • benchmarking and testing

“Skills learned in this class will enable managers and developers [to] make optimal choices for their projects,” said company president Chander Kant.

LinuxCertified also offers general Linux and Linux developer training courses, in which students are supplied with Linux laptops they then have the option of buying. The company also sells Linux laptops direct, and offers on-site Linux training courses.
