New support for Windows browser plugins on Embedded Linux
May 12, 2001 — by Rick Lehrbaum — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsThe following Embedded Linux related announcement was recently found on CodeWeavers' website . . .
CodeWeavers has announced a new product called CrossOver Plugin which delivers a complete web browsing experience in a small footprint by making the full range of Windows Web Browser plugins available on embedded Linux.
CrossOver Plugin works by providing a bridge between the native browser (e.g. Netscape) and any existing Windows plugin (e.g. QuickTime). Using CrossOver technology, the actual Windows plugins are loaded and run at full speed on the target platform.
CrossOver is available now for use in Embedded Linux based devices.
