The Real-time Linux Workshop has issued a call for papers for its ninth annual event, set for Nov. 2-4 in Linz, Austria. This year's event has a special focus on industrial case studies, but authors are invited to submit original work on a range of topics related to real-time Linux.

Specific suggested topics include:

• Modifications and variants of the GNU/Linux operating system extending its real-time capabilities
• Contributions to real-time Linux variants, drivers, and extensions.
• User-mode real-time concepts, implementation, and experience
• Real-time Linux applications in academia, research, and industry
• Real-time Linux in measurement and data-aquisition systems
• Signal processing with Linux/real-time Linux
• Work in progress reports, covering recent developments
• Educational material on real-time Linux
• Tools for embedding Linux or real-time Linux and embedded real-time Linux applications
• RTOS core concepts and RT-safe synchronization mechanisms
• Analysis and benchmarking methods, and results of real-time GNU/Linux variants
• Debugging techniques and tools, both for code and temporal debugging of core RTOS components, drivers, and real-time applications
• Real-time related extensions to development environments
• RT-Linux in safety-critical systems

Proposals are due Aug. 11, with notifications going out Sep. 15. Final papers are due Oct. 13.

The Real-Time Linux Workshop is co-located this year with the first-ever European CELF conference, Nov. 2-3. Both events take place at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz, Austria.

The Workshop is organized by Prof. Bernhard Zagar of JKU, Dr. Peter Wurmsdobler of the Real-time Linux Foundation, and by Lanzhou Univeriversity Professors Li Lian and Nicholas McGuire. Additional details are here.
