Jan 9, 2009 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 views

LinuxDevices contributing editor Kevin Dankwardt, Ph.D, will offer four short, intensive, multi-day courses on embedded Linux, starting Jan. 26 in Redwood City, Calif. Delivered via UC California Berkeley's Extension school, the courses cover system design, C application development, driver development, and real-time Linux.

Dankwardt hopes the courses will prove useful for unemployed engineers interested in rapidly gaining marketable job skills. Held at UC's Peninsula Center campus, 1991 Broadway, the courses include:

Stated Dankwardt, “Companies such as QUALCOMM, IBM, HP, Nokia, Brocade Communications, and others are looking for Linux developers who can work with embedded systems.”

Jim Connor, UC Extension program director, stated, “These are short, intensive courses designed to provide software developers with very efficient, accelerated learning.”
