PCI intelligent data acquisition boards support Linux
Jun 12, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsBellevue, Wash. — (press release) — Microstar Laboratories, Inc., a maker of Data Acquisition Processor boards, today announced a new Linux driver for PCI DAP boards. This support compliments an existing Linux driver for the company's ISA bus products.
Microstar Laboratories produces a line of Data Acquisition Processor (DAP) boards, each with an onboard processor. All Microstar DAP boards have onboard processors which run DAPL, a multitasking, real-time operating system. Each supports external expansion boards to increase the number of data channels. The products have a mix of onboard analog and digital inputs and outputs. The user controls this from an application running within a Linux computer system that contains the board. Real-time functions in DAPL include software triggering, data reduction, filtering, FFT, and PID control.
The new driver supports Linux kernel 2.2.
