The IBM Linux Technology Center has been churning out the podcasts this month, with topics including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.2, security, PowerPC, Hugetlbfs, and OpenSim (pictured). Meanwhile, the center is seeking listener questions for an upcoming Josh Boyer podcast on embedded PowerPC development.

The upcoming, still unscheduled, embedded PowerPC podcast will feature an interview with Josh Boyer, one of the Linux kernel maintainers for embedded PowerPC. Boyer focuses on “IBM/AMCC PowerPC 40x/44x/46x CPUs,” according to his recent LiveJournal posting. He also participates with the Penguinppc.org site, which in addition to its ample resources, offers a nice concise introduction to embedded Linux and PowerPC issues in its FAQ. All questions regarding embedded PowerPC are welcome, says Boyer.

Since LinuxDevices reported about a month ago on the center's two-part podcast interviewing Paul McKenney about the Real-Time Linux Project, several more podcasts featuring host Tom Gall have been posted. They include, starting from the most recent:

  • IBM contributions to Red Hat Enterprise 5.2 with Emily RatliffRHEL 5.2 has hit the streets with new virtualization features and improved support for IBM technology.
  • OpenSim with Sean Dague - Gall interviews one of the developers of OpenSim (pictured at top), the open source implementation of Linden Lab's Second Life.
  • Linux Security, LSPP and MLS with George Wilson — All about the Labeled Security Protection Profile and the Multi-Level Security projects.
  • Power toolchain with Steve Munroe — Discussion of the IBM Linux Technology Center efforts to optimize PowerPC hardware.
  • Hugetlbfs with Adam Litke — Everything you wanted to know about handling huge pages and translation lookaside buffers (TLBs) on Linux.

The IBM Linux Technology Center podcasts are available here, and listeners can post questions on the upcoming embedded PowerPC podcast here.
