TimeSys Corp. announced a real-time Linux software development kit (SDK) for the Dy 4 Systems SVME/DMV-181 single-board computer, a rugged VME-based SBC which targets avionics, tactical ground vehicle, and naval applications.

The Dy 4 SVME/DMV-181 SBC is based on a 500 MHz PowerPC 7410 processor with AltiVec technology, and provides six serial ports, two Fast Ethernet channels, and two USB ports.

TimeSys described its Linux SDK for Dy 4's SVME/DMV-181 SBC as a full Linux distribution which includes kernel enhancements and provides performance modules that implement a true Linux-based real-time operating system. Additionally, developers using the SDK can take advantage of several optional TimeSys development, modeling, and tracing tools.

According to TimeSys, its Linux SDK is the only single-kernel Linux-based RTOS that provides a complete package for application development for the Dy 4 SVME/DMV-181 SBC.

The TimeSys Linux SDK for Dy 4's SVME/DMV-181 SBC is immediately available.
