QuickLogic and Intel will present an online seminar about using PC components such as hard drives and Wi-Fi radios in mobile embedded devices. The free seminar, set for May 4, will discuss Intel's PXA processors, as well as QuckLogic's intelligent programmable bridges.

Topics covered will include:

• Intel PXA embedded processor architecture
• Architectural tradeoffs and how designs can be tailored for application requirements, including performance, system latency, cost, and power consumption
• How high-throughput wireless connectivity via 802.11ag can be integrated without having to redesign the major hardware/software components of your PXA-based system
• How QuickLogic enables connectivity for Intel PXA embedded processors to miniature hard disk drive storage, while maximizing system performance and lowering overall power consumption

The companies say QuickLogic's intelligent bridges have been demonstrated successfully with Intel's Mainstone development board for PXA2xx chips, running under Linux, Windows CE, and Windows Mobile. QuickLogic shipped its uWatt Programmable PCI Bridge for the PXA27x in March.
