Simulation tools vendor hires marketing gun

Michel Genard will serve as VP of marketing at Virtutech, a supplier of “full-system simulation” products for embedded software development.
A computing industry veteran of 20 years, Genard most recently helped TimeSys define and launch its LinuxLink offering, serving as VP of marketing there. Prior to that, he:
- Helped VirtualLogix (formerly Jaluna) establish a U.S. office
- Worked 12 years at Wind River, including several in executive positions
At Wind River, Genard distinguished himself by leading the company's first Linux-related product launch
, before being promoted to head up the company's Platform product strategy.
Virtutech is best-known for Simics, a hardware/software suite of simulation products aimed at helping embedded systems designers begin to write and test software prior to getting samples of their custom hardware designs. Simics targets aerospace, automotive, telecommunications infrastructure, high-end servers, and semiconductors.
