Seeking about 3 volunteers to test a moving map program for the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500. The program draws vector maps with serial port NMEA (GPS) input. It also operates on other platforms such as notebook computers, but I'm looking for Zaurus users.

Benefits to you:

  • Free license for commercial version of product upon release
  • Influence on design of product
  • Possible entertainment value for geeks

Requirements:

  • You must have a Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 with expanded memory in CF or SD slot
  • You must have a source for NMEA input and appropriate cabling
  • the program currently works with data from Garmin etrex units, but I would like to test with varied feed types
  • You must test within the United States or Puerto Rico (this is where maps are currently available)
  • You must provide useful feedback about program operation

Prefer:

  • You have wide-area wireless service for your Zaurus
