Webinar targets roll-your-own embedded Linux hackers
Oct 19, 2005 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsTimeSys will present a free (with registration) Webinar next week on using its online tools to build custom embedded Linux distributions. The hour-long event is entitled, “Building Linux Distributions using LinuxLink,” and is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 1 PM Eastern / 10 AM Pacific time.
TimeSys in August shifted its strategy to focus on supporting embedded developers “rolling their own” Linux distributions — that is, assembling their own custom embedded Linux distributions from freely available sources. The company says its LinuxLink Access, and LinuxLink Developer offer a complete, one-stop online service that can help engineers specify, create, and maintain custom Linux distributions based on the latest kernel patches from semiconductor vendors, along with tested, validated open source software distributions.
The TimeSys Webinar will be presented by LinuxLink Product Manager Gene Sally and
will cover:
- Customizing Linux to unique embedded project requirements
- Using the LinuxLink project wizards
- Defining a Linux distribution
- Starting an online build
- Products of the build process
- The next steps in customizing Linux
Additional details, and a registration form, can be found here.
