Webinars address embedded Linux topics

Most of the webinars are vendor-neutral, at least in part, while others focus on the use and benefits of the company's LinuxLink developer service.
The new webinars include:
- Project risk reduction — Discusses risk points, some less obvious than others, that every project manager responsible for an embedded Linux deliverable should understand, the companys says. Also shows how LinuxLink aims to mitigate risk. Mar. 20, 1 PM EDT (10:00 AM PDT, 5:00 PM GMT)
- Adopting a common embedded Linux toolset — Explains how TimeSys can provide unified toolset capable of supporting multiple departmental projects based on varying Linux distributions, including those created from scratch, those based on an open source distribution, and those sourced from commercial vendors. - Building an embedded device with a GUI — Discusses several alternative GUI frameworks, and how to choose between them. Includes a “hands-on” example of using open source components to create a GUI-based platform for a typical embedded board, the company says. April 12, 2007 1:00 PM EDT (10:00 AM PDT, 5:00 PM GMT)
- QEMU for embedded Linux engineers — Discusses using the QEMU processor emulator to run code compiled for PowerPC or ARM targets on x86 development hosts, as well as compiling PowerPC and ARM binaries “natively” on potentiallly faster x86 hardware. The webinars are free with registration. Once completed, they will be added to TimeSys's archive, which currently hosts nearly 30 webinars.
The embedded services provider also recently added postcasts to the mix.
