A German PC shop is shipping a tiny Geode-based PC available with a choice of Linux operating systems. Concept Distribution's “miniPC” measures 5.5 x 5.1 x 1.4 inches (13 x 14 x 3.5cm), and is available with thin-client and general-purpose Linux OSes.

Features include:

• AMD Geode GX2-533 (400 MHz)
• 256MB RAM (128MB available on thin-client version)
• 64MB Flash available in thin-client version, which alternatively can be configured for network-boot
• 40 or 80 GB hard drive
• Two front- and two rear-mounted USB 1.1 ports
• Front-mounted stereo I/O ports
• 100Mbps Ethernet
• VGA port supporting UXGA (1600 x 1200) video at 85 Hz

The thin client version includes X11 and a FlashPlayer, and also includes a kiosk-mode option.

Availability

The miniPC is available direct from Concept Distribution, with prices starting at 346.84 Euros. The thin-client version starts at 265.64 Euros. The miniPCs are also available with Windows CE.
