Sixth Real-time Linux Workshop issues call for papers

Gartner/Dataquest: Embedded Linux now number one in Asia

Gartner/DataQuest and EE Times Asia have collaborated on a survey which has found embedded Linux to now be the most commonly used operating system among Asian embedded developers. The finding comes from a detailed study surveying over 800 embedded software developers in Asia. (more…)

Seven new EBX, PC/104 SBCs from Advantech

These days there are numerous embedded devices that use Linux as their foundation. From the manufacturer's viewpoint, this makes economic sence. Unless the quantities are quite small, any time a manufacturer can trade a one time engineering cost (such as software development) for a bill of material cost (such as an OS License) they'll do it.
