Lanner Electronics is offering a 3.5-inch SBC (single-board computer) with guaranteed availability through 2010. The EM-9360 is based on a 533/800MHz Via “Mark” processor with integrated northbridge, and targets applications where legacy features such as an ISA bus are required.

Lanner does not specify operating system support for the EM-9360; however, Linux is supported on other 3.5-inch SBCs based on Mark, such as the Acrosser AR-B1652 and Datasound Laboratories ICOP-6247-6S. The Mark processor integrates Via's Eden core and CLE266 Northbridge, both of which are certainly well supported under a wide variety of PC-compatible OSes, Linux included.

Additional features of the Lanner EM-9360 include:

  • ISA bus for “legacy” uses
  • Support for dual independent graphics, with VGA, TTL, and dual-channel LVDS
  • 2 x USB
  • 4 x serial
  • 10/100 Ethernet
  • PC/104 expansion
  • SO-DIMM socket
  • CompactFlash slot

According to Lanner senior product manager Robert Kuo, “The 3.5-inch form factor has reached a maturity level where long-life supply is of utmost concern to system designers.”

Availability

The EM-9360 is available now, and through 2010, Lanner said.
