The fourth annual ARM Developers' Conference will be held in Santa Clara from October 2nd through 4th. Show organizers promise a “rigorous 3-day regimen” with more than 120 technical sessions, along with an expo showcasing products such as ARM-based SoCs (system-on-chip processors), embedded boards, and development tools.

Additionally, ARM and its partners will likely announce new products and product roadmaps at the event. Co-located with the Portable Design Conference and Exhibition, the ARM Developers' Conference divides its technical sessions into 15 tracks:

The event will feature several Linux-specific sessions, including:

• VirtualLogix's Mark Milligan, VP of marketing, will discuss his company's single-core featurephone design win with Purple Labs, in a talk entitled, “Real-time virtualization brings rich functionality of Linux in high-volume feature phones”
• Philippe Robin (interview), product manager and open source community coordinator at ARM, will describe the result of recent work to integrate support for Thumb-2 into the current Linux kernel, in a talk entitled, “Adapting Linux to use ARM Thumb-2 ISA”
• Tim Simerly, video systems applications engineer at Texas Instruments, will discuss the use of DaVinci technology under Linux, including how to avoid common pitfalls, in a talk entitled “Streamline your audio/video system design in a Linux/ARM environment”

According to its organizers, the ARM Developers' Conference will also feature an exhibition hall with more than 80 booths and “all-new design pavilions” featuring product demonstrations. General sessions in the ballrooms will feature panel discussions and ARM device road map presentations.

Attending exhibits and analyst presentations is free, while pricing for other events varies. A full-access 3-day conference pass, including a “free” 4G iPod Nano music player, costs $695 before August 31st and $795 afterwards. More information is available here.
