Tampere, Finland — (press release excerpt) — Impulsesoft announced the release of its ConnectFree family of Bluetooth development kits. The ConnectFree family consisting of the Impulsesoft Bluetooth Development Kit (iBDK) hardware and software Bluetooth development platform, the Impulsesoft Embedded Software Development Kit (iSKE) a software SDK on Linux and the Impulsesoft Windows SDK (iSKW) provides… the development community a range of versatile and flexible development options to bring their Bluetooth products and applications to market rapidly. It allows the developers to add Bluetooth functionality into the product platform of their choice — from PCs and PDAs, to embedded devices for automotive industrial and medical applications.

Impulsesoft Bluetooth Development Kit (iBDK) provides an easy-to-use prototyping environment to develop, test and demonstrate Bluetooth applications. The kit, which contains Impulsesoft's iBTStack software, includes RS-232, test, debug and optional interfaces including audio, Ethernet and RS485. The external Bluetooth module interface in the board provides developers the flexibility of using the Bluetooth silicon of their choice. The comprehensive development kit with its own ARM-based processor and large on-board FLASH memory enables the developer to directly download and test their applications on it without an additional host environment. Users can also access this board from their target platform using a RPC mechanism provided.

The software development kits Impulsesoft Embedded SDK (iSKE) and Impulsesoft Windows SDK (iSKW) address the Bluetooth application development requirements of Linux environment and Microsoft Windows segments. iSKE which is Linux-ported version of Impulsesoft's embedded protocol stack software helps users develop and test their applications that can subsequently be ported to run on their target embedded platform. Impulsesoft's iSKW, built around the V1.1 certified Bluetooth stack WDM driver solution, helps PC and peripheral manufacturers and OEMs develop custom Bluetooth applications to run on their products. iSKW is available on WIN 98SE, ME and 2000 platforms.
