The second annual Bossa Conference on open source and mobile devices is open for registration, says Brazilian Linux developers group Scheduled for March 16-19 in Porto de Galinhas, Recife, Brazil, Bossa Conference '08 will feature speakers from OpenEmbedded, OpenMoko, Maemo, Trolltech, and more.

Intended as an informal gathering of mobile embedded hackers, the conference appears to have plenty to appeal to embedded Linux developers — not counting the amenities of the beachfront Summerville Beach Resort. Conference sponsor is an embedded Linux mobile development lab established by the Instituto Nokia de Tecnologia (INdT), which developed the Canola media player for Nokia's Linux-based tablets. Last year's conference was apparently a hit, with OpenMoko's Carsten 'The Rasterman' Haitzler — once again a featured speaker — lending this testimonial to the site: “Best conference I've ever been to. DON'T miss this one.”

The list of speakers and their intended topics includes:

  • Aaron Seigo — KDE4/Qt4
  • Alp Toker — WebKit
  • Carl Worth — Cairo
  • Denis Kenzior — Trolltech
  • Harald Welte — OpenMoko
  • John “J5” Palmieri — Optimizing D-Bus
  • Lennart Poettering — PulseAudio
  • Marcel Holtmann — Bluez
  • Marcelo Oliveira - Canola
  • Michael Lauer — OpenMoko/OpenEmbedded
  • Oyvind Kolas — Clutter
  • Rasterman — EFL
  • Zack Rusin — KDE
