Cellphone virtualization platform attains security registration

VirtualLogix (formerly “Jaluna”) has joined the Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP), and has registered its virtualization product for mobile phones with the organization's “Trusted Environment” recommendations. VoIP-optimized home gateway design runs Linux

Infineon is shipping a Linux-based hardware/software reference design for integrated access devices (IADs). The ADSL2+ Residential Gateway (RG) design is based on an Infineon MIPS32 SoC (system-on-chip) with integrated VoIP (voice-over-IP) co-processor and ADSL2/2+ transceiver. Fabless semiconductor vendor Cavium will ship a new line of multi-core MIPS64-based network and security processors early next year. Dual-core PowerPC SoC gains BSP, support

MontaVista says its commercial embedded Linux distribution now supports a dual-core Freescale SoC (system-on-chip) processor aimed at networking and telecommunications applications. MontaVista Linux Professional Edition is now available with a “Linux support package” (LSP) for Freescale's MPC8641D processor, which integrates two e600 PowerPC cores clocked at up to 1.5GHz.
