Compact embedded PCs target industrial apps

The COM/PC1-800 and COM/PC1-1100 are packaged in heavy-duty metal enclosures, and support embedded Linux, among other OSes.

The PC1-800 is based on a 500MHz AMD LX800 Expansion features include two mini-PCI slots, one holding the WiFi interface, and two “multi-I/O” slots that can be used for fieldbus interfaces or an analog ISDN/GSM/EDGE modem. Power input is 110 to 230 VAC, or optionally 12 to 24 VDC. The devices can be wall-mounted or mounted on a DIN rail, for example inside a control cabinet, SSV said. The PC1-800 measures 10.2 x 9.1 x 2.6 inches (260 x 232 x 65 mm), while the PC1-110 is slightly larger at 10.2 x 9.1 x 3.5 inches (260 x 232 x 90 mm). Supported OSes include Linux and Windows XP Pro and Embedded. Both units appear to be available now. Pricing was not disclosed.
