There's something different about this year's Embedded Processor Forum. Recognizing the burgeoning interest in embedded Linux, organizers of the highly popular technical conference have this year added a unique “affinity session” devoted to embedded Linux. In the Embedded Linux Affinity Session, a panel of experts assembled by the Embedded Linux Consortium will offer a no-holds-barred opportunity for… users, analysts, and members of the press to question, challenge, and debate the pro's and con's of embedding Linux.

The well known conference, sponsored by MicroDesign Resources, traditionally serves as a platform for a multitude of announcements of new embedded CPUs, cores, and DSPs. More than 20 such presentations are expected at the upcoming event. In addition to chip-oriented sessions, there will also be seminars on applications and technologies such as information appliances and digital audio. Presenting companies include Lucent Microelectronics, BOPS, Chameleon Systems, IBM Microelectronics, Improv Systems, Infineon Technologies, Lexra, MIPS, Motorola, SiByte, Silicon Magic, Tensilica, and Texas Instruments.
