The second annual Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) European Conference is set for November 6 and 7 in Ede, The Netherlands. Prospective speakers and presenters have until June 29 to submit proposals.

This year's CELF European Conference will be held in conjunction with the NLUUG Autumn Conference on Mobile Computing. The NLUUG is an association of professional open source and open standards users in the Netherlands.

CELF Europe presentations should be technical rather than commercial in nature, and relate to the use of Linux in embedded systems, says CELF. Subject matter may stray from consumer electronics, as long as it interests “most embedded users.” Priority will be given to presentations not previously given or widely distributed.

Suggested topics are the same as last year's:

• Audio, video, and graphics systems for embedded products
• Security
• System size
• Bootup time
• Meeting real-time constraints
• Power management
• Streaming media
• Flash memory devices and filesystems
• Technologies related to cell phones, digital set-top boxes, handheld devices, or other CE products
• Development tools for embedded users
• Use of Linux in actual products, practical experience and war stories
• Standards for CE products

The presentation request should include name, presentation title, and a one or two paragraph abstract. Proposals should also include whether the presenter grants rights to CELF to publish the presentation on the Forum's website after the conference. Availability

Proposals for presentations, demos and Birds-of-a-Feather sessions must be received by June 29, says CELF, and speakers will be notified by July 10th. Proposals can be sent via email, here. More information on the conference should appear here, and more on the call for papers may be found here.
