GNU tools, Linux to gain ARM9 on-chip debug tools support

Engineers designing products around an ARM9TDMI microprocessor core (including ARM920T, ARM922T and ARM940T) will now be able to control and debug their hardware designs and application software, without having to dedicate target resources such as UARTs, Ethernet channels, or parallel ports for that purpose.
Macraigor's support for the ARM9 family of microprocessors includes all three hardware tools, the Wiggler, the Raven and the mpDemon, as well as Macraigor's software tools: a GNU tools build, the OCD Commander debugger, and a Flash Programming Application. Macraigor tools have been fully tested with two production-ready reference designs, the ARM Integrator CM920T and Conexant's CX82110 network processor reference board.
ARM9 licensees will be able to use the wide selection of third party software debuggers which are currently ported to Macraigor's hardware. Companies which intend to incorporate Macraigor's ARM9 firmware into their application include: Accelerated Technology, Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics, IAR Systems, TimeSys, and Viosoft.
In addition to support from many industry-leading software debuggers, Macraigor Systems' port of the GNU tools suite (GCC, GAS, and GDB) and OCD Commander, assembly level software debugger, can be downloaded from Macraigor's web site.
