Prosilica says its monochromatic and color GigE Vision cameras send uncompressed video frames via Ethernet, eliminating the need for a capture card. Models range from a CMOS, 200fps VGA model (640×480), to CCD models up to 4-megapixels, with 15fps operation.
CEO Marty Furse stated, “Customers now have greater ability to run our gigabit Ethernet cameras on low-cost, very small, [single-board] computers for embedded and OEM applications.”
The GigE Vision line previously supported Windows host OSes. In addition to the new Linux SDK, the company will also offer a QNX SDK, it says.
