Eurotech has introduced a RoHS-compliant PC/104-Plus single-board computer (SBC) that targets low-power, space-constrained embedded applications such as mobile computer systems, real-time industrial control, and multimedia data acquisition. The CPU-1433 is based on an x86-compatible AMD Geode processor, and supports Linux, according to the company.

Eurotech says the RoHS-compliant CPU-1433 replaces its older Geode GX1-based CPU-1432 and adds improved features and enhanced peripheral connectivity. The module is based on the AMD Geode GX466 333 MHz processor, and is equipped with 128 MB of soldered-on DDR DRAM. Mass storage can be implemented with a DOM (DiskOnModule) flash memory device.

Eurotech lists the following key features and specifications for the CPU-1433:

• Power — +5V only, less than 6 watts
• Operating temperature — 0 to 60 degrees C, extended temperature range available

Compatibility with commercial operating systems such as Linux, Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, VxWorks, and QNX is “guaranteed,” Eurotech says. A hardware development kit is available that includes Ethernet and USB adaptors, interface cables, and power supply.
