Ibase announced a microATX motherboard whose Intel G41 Express chipset supports Intel Core2 Quad/Duo and Intel Celeron processors. The MB941 offers up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, PCI and PCI Express expansion, four SATA ports, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, an RS-232 port and three RS-232/422/485 ports, and eight USB 2.0 ports, says the company.

The MB941 is designed for industrial, embedded, and communications applications that require multiple serial connections, says Ibase. The 9.6 x 9.6-inch microATX form-factor motherboard offers an LGA775 socket that supports Intel Core2 Quad, Core2 Duo, and Intel Celeron processors.

The board takes its name from the accompanying Intel G41 Express chipset, which integrates an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500. This is said to enable "smooth high-definition video playback" and "optimized 3D graphics performance."

The motherboard ships standard with 2GB of DDR3 memory, and is upgradable to 4GB, says the company. A CompactFlash socket is available, and expansion interfaces are said to include PCI Express x16 and x1 interfaces plus two PCI slots.

The MB941 is further equipped with dual gigabit Ethernet ports, four SATA II ports, and a VGA port, says Ibase. Eight USB 2.0 ports are said to be available, with four of them on the coastline.

An RS-232 port is joined by three RS-232/422/485 ports, says Ibase. Other I/O includes parallel, PS/2, and audio ports, says the company. The motherboard is said to be available with an optional ID395 daughter board for TPM 1.2 functionality.
