OSDL achieves Carrier Grade Linux project milestones
Aug 13, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views[Updated 2:45pm PDT] San Francisco, CA; LinuxWorld — (press release excerpt) — OSDL's Carrier Grade Linux Working Group today delivered the Carrier Grade Linux Requirements Definition V1.0 and Carrier Grade Linux Architecture Specification V1.0. The CGL Requirements Definition incorporates comments from the industry and the developer community received through the OSDL developer site. The CGL Architecture Specification provides an introduction to the key concepts and capabilities of each of the major features to be provided by OSDL CGL Version 1.0.
Carrier Grade Linux Working Group participants include new member Force Computers in addition to Alcatel, Cisco Systems, Ericsson, HP, IBM, Intel, MontaVista Software, NEC, Nokia, Red Hat and SuSE.
OSDL will be featured at several sessions and talks at LinuxWorld August 13 through August 15 in San Francisco. A schedule of these topic and times is available here.
