Reference designs support Linux-based communications apps

Framingham, MA — (press release excerpt) — WIN Enterprises Inc. today announced two new single-board computer platforms that support operation under Linux: the WIN 440MX 2LAN Entry-Level Communications Appliance Reference Design with 700MHz CPU; and the WIN 810 4LAN Communications Controller based on Intel Corporation communication appliance reference designs. The two new controllers are upgraded versions of previously announced products.

The WIN 440MX 2LAN Entry-Level Communications Appliance Reference Design is designed to run applications for network services, optimization, or management. Key features include: supports Celeron and PIII 100 MHz FSB processors; two 100/10 Mbps Ethernet ports; two RS-232 ports; PMC expansion; two USB ports; one IDE interface; runs headless and supports video redirection.

The WIN 810E 4LAN Communications Controller is designed for a 1U chassis. Key features include: supports Celeron and PIII 1+ GHz, 66/100/133 MHz FSB processors; onboard CompactFlash socket; four 100/10 Mbps Ethernet ports; two RS-232 ports; PMC-bus expansion; two USB ports (internal header); one parallel port (internal header); one FDD connector (notebook); one IDE connector; runs headless and supports video redirection; VGA header for development purposes.
