TimeSys has launched an Authorized Systems Integration Partner (ASIP) program aimed at companies using its LinuxLink services to create and maintain embedded Linux implementations for clients. Additionally, TimeSys has announced new ASSPs (authorized support and service partners) serving France, Italy, Korea, and Taiwan.

TimeSys says its new ASIP program and LinuxLink service offer integrators a foundation upon which to base their Linux development efforts. The program avails partners of tools for developing and compiling applications, hundreds of cross-compiled packages, and access to TimeSys engineers who can provide project guidance, according to the company.

TimeSys says LinuxLink has “changed the model” for embedded Linux development, offering integrators and other customers an alternative to the traditional tradeoff between “spending large amounts of time upfront to build a distribution from scratch” and “spending large amounts of money for a specific commercial distribution with inflexible support options.”

Initial TimeSys ASIP partners include:

• Nucleodyne Systems, described as “a system software development services company with core competence in embedded systems development, custom board bring-up, low level kernel subsystem development, and device driver development on PPC, ARM, MIPS, and X86 processors”
• Proelec AB, said to offer RTOS and embedded Linux consulting and professional services, along with services within software and hardware design. Their mission is to “provide added value to their customers from idea to production and maintenance,” TimeSys says.
• SRA OSS, which offers embedded Linux consulting, development, support, testing, and training services covering “the entire embedded software development life cycle,” including architecture, design, development, integration, and optimization, TimeSys says

TimeSys CEO Larry Weidman stated, “The ASIP program [combines] highly capable system integrators and the rich set of content and tools available from TimeSys. With this program, companies looking for service providers for their embedded device projects can still benefit from the advantages of LinuxLink.”

Proelec's managing director, Hagan Grip, stated, “LinuxLink reduces our development time and provides the flexibility we need for our projects.”

Nucleodyne spokesperson Kallol Biswas stated, “TimeSys provides an efficient framework for us to collaborate directly with our clients and provide services and solutions for developing and integrating various products in the embedded market.”

New ASSP partners

Additionally, TimeSys has expanded its ASSP program, signing on three new partners that will offer native-language sales, support, and value-added services in four geographic regions:

• France and Italy will be served by Antycip, a real-time/embedded hardware and software developer and electronic tools and equipment vendor with a 20-year pedigree (France will also continue to be served by ASSP partner AC6)
• Korea will be served by MTEK I&C, a specialist in RF (radio frequency) equipment and infrastructure
• Taiwan will be served by Superlink Technology Corp., a specialist in industrial, government, education, and military sectors

Counting the new additions, TimeSys's ASSP partners now number eight. Other countries served include Japan, Israel, Greece, Turkey, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand.

In addition to its ASIP and ASSP partner programs, TimeSys offers an Onboard partner program to which Freescale, Intel, ARM, and Atmel currently belong.
