Campbell, CA — (press release excerpt) — Viosoft Corp. today announced its intention to provide a seamless migration path for Intel customers using the Intel Embedded Linux IDE for the Intel IXP1200 network processor. The company also outlined its plans to support the recently announced Intel IXP2400 and IXP2800 network processors. The integration of the Arriba! Embedded Linux Edition with the Intel family of products provides users with a highly integrated and flexible development environment for networking applications.

Effective immediately, Viosoft will offer directly to customers the Arriba! Embedded Linux Edition for the Intel network processors. In addition to various usability and performance enhancements, this edition of Arriba! comes complete with an embedded Linux runtime environment, StrongARM cross-development tools, and Board Support Package (BSP) porting kit.

In the second-half of this year, Viosoft plans to migrate existing functionalities and enhancements of the Arriba! Embedded Linux Edition forward to the Intel IXP2400 and IXP2800 hardware and simulation platforms.

The Arriba! Embedded Linux Edition features include:

• Windows-based IDE for the Intel IXP1200, IXP2400 and IXP2800 network processors minimizes training and support costs. Linux and Solaris host support are available upon request.
• Add-on component to Intel Internet Exchange Architecture (Intel IXA) Software Development Kit (SDK) 2.01/3.0.
• Easy-to-use visual development environment for building, configuring, and debugging the Linux kernel, device drivers, and user applications, all in one tool.
• Cross-compiling capability enables building Linux kernels and applications on Windows hosted systems.
• Seamless integration with standard and proprietary tools and libraries, including those provided by Intel for the microengines in their SDKs speeds time-to-market.
• Integrated Linux kernel project management wizard is
  compatible with native kernel configuration system.
• Embedded Linux runtime environment & BSP porting kit.
