Shuttle announced an all-in-one PC featuring a 15.6-inch touchscreen and a dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor available with SUSE Linux. The X50V2 includes a 1366 x 768 pixel display, webcam, a microphone and stereo speakers, a 4-in-1 card reader, plus room for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive and up to 4GB of RAM, the company says.

The X50V2 resembles Shuttle's recently announced XS35 desktop in that it is available in a "barebone" configuration without memory, a hard disk drive (HDD), or operating system. It will also be available preconfigured with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD, loaded with either SUSE Linux or Windows 7 Home Premium, the company says.

Shuttle says the X50V (above) includes a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, offering a resistive touchscreen that is only single-touch capable. The device also has a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a microphone, stereo speakers, plus a "4-in-1" card reader supporting SD, MMC, Memory Stick, and Memory Stick Pro media, the company adds.

The X50V2 uses Intel's dual-core "Pineview" Atom D510 processor, along with the NM10 I/O controller. According to Shuttle, the CPU's integrated graphics controller provides resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 pixels on an externally connected display.

In addition to a VGA port, the X50V2 includes a microphone input, headphone output, two serial ports, a parallel port, and a 10/100 Ethernet port, Shuttle says. The PC is also said to include four USB 2.0 ports, two on its left side and two on its right side.

The X50V2 supports 802.11b/g/n wireless networking too, via an included Mini PCI Express card that is likely user-accessible. Shuttle supplies instructions for removing the back of the X50V2's case to add memory and a hard disk drive if the device was purchased in a barebone configuration. Two DIMM slots accept up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, according to the company.

According to Shuttle, the X50V2 is on sale now, at least in Europe. Recommended retail pricing for the barebone configuration is said to be 353 Euros (about $477).
