Dr. C. Douglass Locke joins “Ask the Experts” forum

Dr. Locke received his Ph.D. from Carnegie-Mellon University in Computer Science, with a dissertation on real-time scheduling. Since then, he has logged more than 33 years in the specification, architecture, design, and implementation of applications in space (both ground based and… flight), aircraft, shipboard, submarine, command & control, and information systems. Through his participation in the LinuxDevices.com “Ask the Experts” forum, Dr. Locke is available for discussion and comment on topics of interest to members of the embedded and real-time Linux community.
Dr. Locke's principal technical interests include distributed systems / software architecture, distributed real-time systems, software engineering (especially for real-time applications), performance-critical object oriented systems architecture, open systems, standards, artificial intelligence systems, real-time scheduling theory and practice, and operating systems (especially performance-related issues.) He is a frequently invited speaker on real-time systems architecture, design, implementation, and analysis at academic and industry conferences and workshops worldwide. Dr. Locke has served and continues to serve on various standardization committees related to real-time, such as POSIX, Real-Time CORBA, Real-Time UML and Real-Time Java.
