Embedded Linux conference announces talks and new location
Oct 4, 2001 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsSan Clemente, CA — (press release excerpt) — The RTC Group today announced its Embedded Linux Expo & Conference's high caliber program addressing how Linux challenges the established order in the embedded software market. The single-day event is being held November 8, 2001 at the Sheraton Reston Hotel in Reston, VA (near Washington D.C.) and is open to the public.
The opening keynote, entitled “Licensing of Embedded Software”, will be presented by Matt Harris, VP of Lineo. Mr. Harris' extensive background in law, software engineering and management brings forth a broad perspective as he discusses licensing issues under the GPL and why Microsoft's FUD campaign is based on fiction, not fact.
Other prominent experts, along with representatives from the Embedded Linux Consortium, team up for a late-morning panel discussion entitled “The Present and Future of Real-Time Support in Linux”.
