Lineo announces Linux-based DVB set-top box platform

San Francisco, CA; Embedded Systems Conference; — (press release excerpt) — Lineo, Inc. today announced the availability of a turnkey solution for embedded system developers desiring to integrate PVR, DVD, MP3, and web browsing capabilities on an Embedded Linux based set-top box using a DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) source. The set-top box solution, which incorporates a combination of Metro Link Inc.'s Metro Media and Lineo's embedded Linux software, will be demonstrated in Lineo's booth (#2110) at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco this week.
