PCI-104 SBC runs on Atom

Jun 26, 2009 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 views

Ibase is shipping a PCI-104 format single-board computer (SBC) aimed at a variety of rugged, compact embedded designs. The IB805 is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz with an Intel 945GSE Express Chipset, offers multiple I/O, and supports 18-bit LVDS displays, says the company.

The IB805 is suited for a wide range of compact Internet devices and applications in transportation, automation, and industrial control, says Ibase. The SBC's PCI-104 format, measuring 3.8 x 3.6 inches, is essentially the same as PC/104, except that it doesn't include the latter's ISA bus connector.

The SBC offers the ubiquitous Intel Atom N270, paired with the usual Intel 945GSE Express Chipset with ICH7M and Intel GMA 950 graphics. A DDR2 SO-DIMM socket is said to accept up to 1GB of memory.

Display interfaces are said to include VGA CRTs and single channel, 18-bit LVDS displays. The IB805 also provides a gigabit Ethernet port, two RS-232 serial ports, and two SATA ports, as well as interfaces for four USB 2.0 high-speed ports. HD audio is said to be supported via a Realtek ALC662 codec.
