IEI Technology announced a PC with dual DVI outputs and support for 1080p HD video. The ECN-581A-QM57 uses a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M processor, supports up to 4GB of RAM and a 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drive, and offers a Mini PCI Express slot for an optional Wi-Fi adapter, the company says.

According to IEI, the ECN-581A-QM57 is built around a previously released EPIC-format motherboard, the NANO-QM57A pictured at right. Measuring 6.5 x 4.5 inches (165 x 115mm), this board features Intel's QM57 Express chipset and was apparently designed to accept a variety of Core i7, i5, i3, and Celeron CPUs.

The ECN-581A-QM57 is said to be equipped only with a 2.4GHz Core i5-520M processor, which offers dual cores, a TurboBoost speed of 2.93GHz, and a 35-Watt TDP, according to Intel. IEI says its PC features up to 4GB of DDR3 memory via two SODIMM slots and has room for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive.

The device's front panel (pictured below) sports only audio I/O, but the rear panel has one DVI-D and one DVI-I video output, the latter capable of supporting VGA monitors too via an external adapter, the company says. It's said digital resolutions go up to 1920 x 1200 pixels, while analog resolutions can reach 2048 x 1536 pixels.

Additional rear-panel ports are said to include two RS232 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and a gigabit Ethernet port. The ECN-581A-QM57 has a Mini PCI Express slot that allows a Wi-Fi adapter to be installed, IEI adds.

According to IEI, the ECN-581A-QM57 supports iEZman software, which is said to provide remote client management, OOB (out-of-band) diagnostics, and asset tracking regardless of system power or OS state. Also included is One Key Recovery software, which creates a full system backup on demand and allows for one-click restoration.

Specifications listed by IEI for the ECN-581A-QM57 include:
