Axiomtek is readying an IP4X-rated, dust-proof digital signage player based on a dual-core, 1.8GHz Intel Atom D525 processor. The DSB-300 offers 4GB of DDR3 memory, dual PCIe slots with wireless options, a gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, a serial port, and an optional hardware decoder that supports 1920 x 1080 HD video, says the company.

With its It's IP4X-rated dust-proof enclosure, the DSB-300 is a rugged, standalone signage player "that can withstand repeated usage and be exposed to severe operating conditions," says Axiomtek. The device is said to support fanless operation.

The DSB-300 is built around a dual-core Intel Atom D525 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, says Axiomtek. An unidentified hardware decoder — we'd guess it's a Broadcom CrystalHD part — is available as an option to support "vivid, HD images and videos without reservation," at 1920 x 1080 resolution, says the company.

The DSB-300 offers dual 204-pin SODIMMs for up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, says Axiomtek. Also supplied are dual Mini PCI Express slots for optional accessories including Wi-Fi, 3G, and TV tuner modules, says the company.
